Ans:Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) is the first stage of the Chartered Accountancy course in India. In IPCC curriculum only working knowledge of core and allied subjects to accountancy profession is instilled. The unique feature of the entire theoretical education of the Chartered Accountancy curriculum is the supportive and complementary practical training. A student would undergo theoretical education and 3 years of practical training after passing Group-I of IPCC. 
Q:What is Study Package?
Ans:A study package is a comprehensive package provided by the Board of Studies comprising of study material of all subjects, revisionary test papers and suggested answers to the questions set in various examinations, information technology training modules and training guide. Apart from the above, Institute also supplies IT Training materials and Orientation Course materials on registration to the courses. 
Q: Shall I get the study materials on the same day on which prescribed registration forms are submitted? 
Ans:Normally, students belonging to Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur and New Delhi are provided study materials on submission of the application form. Study materials are to be collected in person. For outstation students, study materials are sent by post which takes normal postal delivery time to reach the students. 
Q:Where I can get the list of accredited institutions?
Ans:You can get the accredited institutions list by visiting our website www.icai.org – Students – New Schemes of Education and Training. 
Q:Is there any fee for undergoing oral coaching modules?
Ans:Yes, fee to be charged for different modules of oral coaching will be fixed by the accredited institutions. 
Q: When can an IPCC student start his articled training?
Ans:Under IPCC, articled training starts on passing of Group-I of IPCC.
Q:Under IPCC, articled training starts on passing of Group-I of IPCC.
Ans:Student should pass minimum Group-I or Both groups of IPCC before starting his/ her articled training of 3 years. Please note that student who passes only Second Group cannot start his articled training. The duration of articled training is 3 years for candidates who directly register for IPCC. But for the students who were converted from Professional Competence Course to IPCC it is 3 1?2 years.
Q:What is the entitlement of leave of an articled assistant?
Ans:An articled assistant shall earn leave at the rate of one-sixth of the period for which he has actually served excluding from such period, the period for which he has been on leave subject to a maximum of 180 days. 
Q:What is industrial training? What are the objectives of Industrial training?
Ans:It is a training scheme by which a student can undergo practical training within an approved industrial undertaking having specified amount of fixed assets or turnover or paid–up share capital. The period of such industrial training may range between 9-12 months during the last year of the prescribed period of practical training. Only students of Final chartered accountancy course are eligible for industrial training. 
Q:What is secondment exchange in the context of articleship training?
Ans:In order to expose the trainees at large to multi–disciplinary work variety of business situations, the arrangement of secondment under articleship training is provided by which an articled assistant can work under a different member of the Institute.
Q:What is the eligibility criterion to appear in the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) Examination? 
Ans:(1) A candidate shall be admitted for the first time to Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) Examination if he: (a) has enrolled for the Integrated Professional Competence Course from the concerned Regional Office; (b) produces a certificate to the effect that he has undergone a study course, for a period not less than nine months as on the first day of the month in which the examination is held; (2) He shall pay such examination fee as may be fixed by the Council. (3) The subjects of IPCC are classified into two groups. Student can study and appear in the examination group-wise or both the groups together. 
Q: What is Information Technology Training (ITT)? When will it commence?
Ans:Under IPCC scheme of Education, Training and Examination students have to undergo ITT during the study course period of IPCC. They have to complete it before commencement of articleship 
Q:Who will conduct this training?
Ans:The 100 Hours ITT training would be provided in the ICAI computer labs located in different parts of the country i.e. in regional offices and branches of the ICAI.
Q:Is there any separate fees for undergoing the IT Training?
Ans:Yes. As of now, a fee of Rs. 4000/- would be charged by the concerned regional office/ accredited branch.
Q:Will the Board of Studies provide any study materials for ITT?
Ans:Yes. The Board of Studies provides a set of study modules along with CDs covering various topics of the ITT which a student should study while undergoing the training. This will be made available along with the study materials. 
Q:Is there any exemption available from ITT to students who convert from PE-II/PCC?
Ans:Students who have already undergone 250 hours Compulsory Computer Training under PE-II course or students who have undergone 100 hours Information Technology Training under PCC are exempted from IT training in IPCC. Intermediate students who have converted/ are now converting to IPCC have to undergo IT training if they have not undergone the same earlier. They need to produce ITT completion certificate at the time of registration of Final course. (For details, please refer to question no. 35 related to relaxation allowed to erstwhile students of PE-II, PCC, Intermediate) 
Q: What is Orientation Programme? Is it compulsory? What are the contents covered in Orientation Programme? 
Ans:Orientation Programme is a programme organized by the Board of Studies to orient students of IPCC to the CA course. It is of about one week's period (consisting of 35 hours) and is compulsory. A student of IPCC needs to undergo this programme before joining the Articled training. In Orientation Programme student are taught minimum basic requirements regarding Office Procedures, Communication Skills, Business Environment, General Commercial Knowledge and Personality development to groom the future member of the Institute. It is conducted at all our regional offices and at almost all branches of the Institute. As of now, fee for the Orientation Programme is Rs. 3000/- which is separate from registration fee for Orientation Programme. 
Q: Is any exemption available to students who passed either of the groups in erstwhile Intermediate/ PEE-II/ PCE and converted for IPCC/ATC? 
Ans:Yes. Candidates who passed earlier either of the group under erstwhile Intermediate under para 2A of schedule B/ PEE-II/ PCE are required to appear and pass the remaining paper under IPCC Unit Scheme as the case may be to pass the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC). 
Q: Whether students who have joined PE-II on the basis of their degree examination, have the option of switching over to IPCC? 
Ans:Students who registered for PE-II on the basis of their graduation/ degree can very well convert to IPCC as per the provisions of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.
